Landsdowne club, Mayfair wedding
Audrey and Donald’s wedding blew me away, I met Audrey in her suit at The Ritz Hotel in London and she was every bit as sophisticated as her surroundings. Audrey was cool, calm and collected and was simply looking forward to the day ahead. For me however, this wedding was logistically challenging, with three London locations comprising of The Ritz, the church in Shoreditch and then the reception at The Landsdowne Club in Mayfair. I was up for the challenge and loved every minute of it.
The staff at The Ritz were incredibly helpful and whilst it is not ordinarily permitted to allow photos in the reception area they bent the rules for Audrey and we were able to get some photos in their gorgeous Lobby before getting a taxi over to Shoreditch for the church ceremony.
After the ceremony I got a specially commissioned bus to the Landsdowne Club with the guests, while Audrey and Donald enjoyed some time on their own in their private car. The Landsdowne Club is a fantastic venue in the heart of Mayfair, it has spectacular interiors and a distinguished history. I can see why Audrey and Donald chose this venue for their wedding reception.
From a photography perspective the Landsdowne Club is very interesting due to the architecture, with it’s light and airy decor in the main ballroom through to the more contemporary court yard which has capture pockets of light to be exploited for some dramatic and contrasty portraits.
Audrey and Donald’s guests were a mix of friends and family from all over the globe, some of whom had not seen them for many years but travelled especially to celebrate the day with them, they make a wonderful couple and I wish them all the best for their future as husband and wife
