Amanda and Jamie’s Old Kent Barn Wedding
Amanda and Jamie were married in the spring at the Old Kent Barn which, is a beautiful venue with a rustic and warm vibe. I met Amanda last year when she chose me as her wedding photographer and I was keen to meet with Jamie as I heard so many good things about him from Amanda. So we decided to do an engagement shoot a few months prior to the wedding the photo shoot gave me the perfect opportunity to get know him and them as a couple.
Amanda and Jamie were a very fun couple and I had a great time at their wedding, they made me feel very welcome and had a some creative ideas about some of the photos that they wanted for their album. The lighting conditions on the day could not have been better and were complimented by the layout of the venue with it’s large windows and generous spaces.
Amanda and Jamie were fortunate enough to be able to use the gazebo for their ceremony. The weather stayed dry and was comfortable temperature. The Venue had made provision for an indoor service but this was thankfully this was not necessary. The Old Kent Barn was an intimate venue which suited this wedding well. There were nice touches around the gardens such as the fairy lights, a topiary love sign and music that came from speakers shaped like rocks.
Amanda and Jamie were accompanied by their family and friends who were a very warm and endearing bunch, they didn’t mind waiting around a little bit while we tried to get the whole group shot to work; this involved me hanging from an upstairs window and directing people mainly by waving at them. Despite this they all made me feel very welcome, treating me as another guest. Amanda and Jamie are lucky to have such great people around them to share in their happiness.
